She has graced the cover of Australian Vogue, V and Dazed & Confused and has been photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Nick Knight, Mario Testino, Steven Meisel and Craig McDean.[2]

Before her career in the fashion industry began when she won the Girlfriend CoverGirl Model Search in Australia and moved to Sydney from Melbourne there after, Abbey Lee worked in the bakery section at Newmarket Safeway.

She is friends with models Iekeliene Stange, Alice Burdeu and Catherine McNeil. Abbey Lee has a pierced nose (her left nostril) and a pierced nipple. She currently resides in New York, NY.

Abbey Lee is ranked 10th on the Top 50 Models Women list by models.com

She appeared in the Victoria's Secret 2008 Fashion Show in Miami and the 2009 Fashion Show in New York City.

During Paris Fashion Week, Abbey Lee fainted at the Alexander McQueen S

pring/Summer 2009 Runway. She fainted just as she was about to exit the runway. The cause of the fainting spell was thought to be the combination of the tight corset she wore and her high heels.

In November 2009, Fashion TV placed her first in their First Face Countdown for Spring / Summer 2010.

In March 2010, it is announced that she will be the face of Chanel's Fall/Winter 2010/2011 ready-to-wear ad campaign. This news comes after she closed the Chanel Spring 2010 couture show, and opened the Chanel Fall/Winter 2010/2011 ready-to-wear show.

Autonomy Winter 2010 Lookbook

NEW Giuseppe Zanotti

With the current take on military being far more to the understated side, it's hard to look past combinations of rich brown leather and neautral or khaki tones. Stumbling across these Giuseppe Zanotti multi-strap heels, I couldn't help but think of exactly that. There's a khaki green canvas panel at the back, brown leather straps with silver buckles and some subtle silver studs - great for military looks or the warrior trend. This style of shoe would do nicely in a 2010 wardrobe.

Hot pants women trend

Hot Pants

Once upon a time hot pants were considered more suited to a gymnasium than the streets. But then, in late 2007, the leotard came back into fashion. While it didn't peak on the streets until 2009, and was often worn under skirts, shorts or long furs, in the case of Kate Moss, its prevalence guaranteed that hot pants would indeed be worn by forward thinking fashionisers.

And so there it was on the Spring 2010 catwalks. And again in the front

row. Always on the confident personality. Always on a great figure.

Those two latter parts are key to this fashion trend. It is not for the faint of heart, nor those who aren't confident about their figure.

Two hot pant styles for 2010

One of the two styles for hot pants in 2010, mid-cut hot pants, start at or just below the

belly button. A modern interpretation of the look, it was far less common on the Spring 2010 catwalks though was the style favoured by Miuccia Prada for her Spring 2010 collection.

High-Waisted Hot Pants

As it was on the catwalks, so I suspect it shall be on the streets. To balance the fact that a negative hem line is going to reveal a lot of skin high waisted hot pants will be the strongest look for this trend in 2010.

For those who have enjoyed the vintage revival of recent years have, a vintage interpretation of hot pants is definitely on the cards. To achieve a vintage look invest in a good pair of high-waisted hot pants. When wearing them, look to the classic pin-up girl for inspiration. In particular, draw on the girly motifs that are evident in most pictures of vintage hot pants; nautical detailing is a prime example (just don't take it to the level of being a parody) though a fusion of hot pants and lingerie as outerwear is the most predominant for Spring 2010.

Tips for wearing hot pants in 2010

  • Look for a negative hemline: the hemline of your hot pants ought to curve up the outer thigh. Around the back it needs to at least follow the shape of your derriere. Some styles will curve up the thigh and the cheeks, revealing what we hope is a perfectly toned bum; we implore that such a cut be kept for the evenings
  • Wear hot pants only with heels, unless your name happens to be Gisele Bundchen, Natasha Poly, or you happen to be employed by Victoria's Secret for the job of 'Angel'. Heels will slim out your figure, and give shape to both your legs and derriere
  • On the same point, if you're wearing hot pants in a vintage style (see below for more on that) consider wearing mid-height t-bars for a cute yet sexy look
  • If you translate the look from Spring 2010 into the Autumn (Fall) / Winter season, or even wearing out hot pants on a cool Summer evening, consider wearing them over tights or stockings. Also consider bold patterned or coloured tights, to increase the impact of the look
  • In the same vein: hot pants in Spring 2010 are all about colours and patterns. Don't feel you have to wear them solely in black, that was a 2009 interpretation of the look. Also look for unique pieces courtesy of a different fabric; a fusion between hot pants and the leather fashion trend could work wonders, though we're also partial to a fusion with knits
  • Night time hot pants allow for a whole new level of detailing, such as sequins and studs (though these aren't precluded from day light hours)
  • Avoid the 'I forgot my pants' look that became the staple of stockings and leggings instead of pants in 2009; it's now all too common, and generally frowned upon. To do so, either choose a bold pattern (as suggested above) or accessorise. You might add a belt around your waist or hips to balance out your interpretation of the trend
  • In wearing hot pants you're showing a lot of skin, so consider pairing them other articles of clothing that tone them down. A loose cut top, such as a billowy blouse or a boyfriend blazer, might be the perfect match
  • Day time is the perfect time to fuse hot pants with the 2010 sports-wear fashion trend
  • Finally, akin to the bare midriff fashion trend I have to honestly caution you: you have to have the body for 2010's hot pants. With a negative-hemline, wearing them means showing off your bum. Fantastic if you've got a great bum, but prone to derision if you're don't.

Lady Gaga: all wrapped up in lace

This isn't the first time that Lady Gaga has grabbed our attention, whether its teaming up with hello kitty or looking electric, she knows how to conquer the camera.

In the January issue of 944 magazine she is wrapped up, practically mummified, in lace. The shoot also features the songstress with an amazing hat featuring feathers as well as pink hair, and we dare say it brings out her softer side. The issue entitled "Vanguard" implies that her fashion is at the fore of change, a topic of contention in our forums.

Abbey Lee Kershaw's cover for Numero #109

Last month we were blown away by Abbey Lee Kershaw's cover for Numero #109 where Daniel told you that it embodied what we'll be seeing from fashion in 2010. Now we've had a peek at the issue's main editorial titled Oiseau Rare and Abbey Lee really is quite the rare bird. A rare warrior, big shouldered & feathered (is there any other kind?) bird.

Abbey's bleached brows combined with the lighting chosen by photographer Miguel Reveriego act to accentuate her already amazing features. Other things which caught our eye is the amazing movement created by the flowing dresses, the intricately crafted feathered headware, and the negative hemlines of the hot pants. After all how could we fail to notice those legs, indeed a victory for the styling thanks to Patti Wilson.

In the end it wouldn't really feel like a real Abbey Lee Editorial if there wasn't a tiny touch of nudity, which makes the gallery below slightly not safe for work.

Street style: leather cape + shoulder pads, PFW

Marrying not two but three major 2010 fashion trends comes this fantastic street style look from Paris Fashion Week. The trends in question are of course the leather clothing trend; the trend towards big shoulders and none other than the cape trend .

Miranda Kerr wears the boyfriend blazer during PFW

Having spotted model Miranda Kerr on the Paris Fashion Week catwalk, so too must we see her on the city's streets. And when we do, she's wearing the recently featured boyfriend blazer trend.

Melbourne Street Style, Parklife 2009

Over the weekend, Melbourne's Birrarung Marr played host to Parklife; a music festival that brought acts like The Rapture, Crystal Castles, and Little Boots to the stage. A crowd of 17,000 revelers packed out the expanse of grass while the rain held off for long enough to protect their vintage suede boots and avert a Glastonbury-like mud fest. Jamie Wdziekonski was there to capture some street style shots of the crowd.

You can check out all the pictures by clicking on the gallery below.

Men's 2009-2010 Hair Trends: Styles&Cuts

All fashion trends are cyclical, and in recent years have gradually modernised the looks of the 20th Century and planted them firmly in the 21st. And so too it is with men's hair trends in 2009: it's out with the new, and in with the old. Or at least an old hair style with a new twist.
2009 sees men's hair styles fall into two distinct categories: school boy and rocker. But while the rocker look is certainly a 20th Century creation, the resulting hair style finds its roots (if you'll pardon the pun) distinctly in 19th Century Britain. And so it is in 2009; while the odd 2009 runway collection featured something akin to a grunge revival, the majority of us will live out 2009 with a refined, classically inspired hair cut.

The Slick Back

Though he's given his name to an incarnation of the fringe hair trend, actor George Clooney has been a larger influence of another of 2009's hair style trends for men: the slick back.

In being a part of 2009 hair trends the slick back drives home one major point: men's hair styles in 2009 are all about the classics. In fact the slick back may actually be a little too classic for most men, with its popularity in the likes of Ralph Lauren catalogues it actually conveys a real American style that will guarantee it success in the States but probably little outside.

How To Cut The Slick Back
If you're after the slick back look there's one important thing to first consider: is your hair wavy or straight. From there on in it's easy.

Guys with straight hair: stick to a longer cut on top. Guys with wavy hair: go for short hair on top, perhaps a few inches in length depending on the strength of your wave. The two models below, both from Jil Sander's Spring-Summer 2009 catwalk, best demonstrate the different cut lengths for the two hair types.

For both straight haired and wavy haired men: short on the sides.

And for those who have neither straight nor wavy hair? Consult your stylist. You're going to have a real time getting the slick back hair style with curly hair, and unless you're willing to dedicate vast amounts of time each morning to your hair you might want to seek a chemical curl relaxer.

How To Style The Slick Back
Looking at it, you already know it's not going to take a lot of effort to style the slick back (provided your hair is suitable, and cut appropriately). Using the right product, like good old-school Brylcreem if you're after a classic wet look, the real trick is to make sure that the side you choose to slick the hair back towards actually suits your face. Try both ways, and don't forget that your mirror doesn't show your true image.

The other major choice is whether to add a part or not. Clooney wears it with one, as did many a model on Moschino's Fall (Autumn)/Winter 2008/2009 catwalk, while the models at Jil Sander's collection launch (above) wore the look partless.

The Fringe

Increasingly, current men's fashion trends are being based upon last season's women's fashion trends so it comes as no surprise that the fringe will be a major feature of men's hair trends in 2009. Thankfully it won't take all it's cues from the women fringe trend of 2008, nor will it be long enough to warrant accusations of being a medieval-bowl-cut revival.

How To Cut The Fringe
Thankfully, the men's fringe trend in 2009 comes in a variety of lengths, so you're going to be able to play with the look to suit your face shape. While you'll be looking to keep shorter back and sides (British grade 4-5), the way of truly making it your own is to play with the length of the fringe itself. No better example exists than the Bottega Veneta Men's Spring-Summer 2009 catwalk which provided two fringes in stark contrast to each other:

Of the two, the latter side swept fringe is the more preferential, with the cropped fringe looking a little too nondescript. If the side swept fringe does look like a hair style you might wear, be sure to check out Marni's menswear Fall(Autumn)/winter 2008/2009 catwalk collection where it was a look sported by most of the models.

Personally, I'd recommend something far more current and cut your fringe with texture and at brow length as seen on Burberry Prorsum's Men's Spring/Summer 2009 catwalk (below).

How To Style The Fringe
Whether you take a straightening iron to your hair or enjoy naturally straight hair, the men's fringe trend in 2009 is all about texture. I'm not talking about afro-inducing curls akin to those spotted on Alexander Mcqueen's runway (those were horrible) but light, layered detail. And in giving us the best length, Burberry Prorsum also featured the best textured styling for the men's fringe:

This textured hair style, with its longer fringe, is the 2009 incarnation of the 'Caesar cut', named after the hair style Roman dictator perpetuus Julius Caesar who is frequently depicted wearing his hair in a similar fashion. For a similar reason, it's also become known as 'the Clooney Cut' after actor George Clooney. While cut to bring hair from the temples and crown towards the forehead, the overall effect depends largely on using a matte wax or pomade to create the rugged texture and is quite akin to something sported by men in the Regency era.

And if it's a rugged texture you're after, particularly if you have wavy or curly hair, then look no further than Gucci's Men's Fall (Autumn)/Winter 2008/2009 catwalk where the models oozed sex with a take on 2009's fringe hair style trend.
